Pedestrian Identified In Northeast 33rd Drive Fatal Collision

The pedestrian who died after being hit by a vehicle in the 10000 block of Northeast 33rd Drive on July 5, 2021 has been identified as 34-year-old Michael L. Bute.

The street where this happened was incorrectly listed as 33rd Ave in an earlier release.

On July 5, 2021, at about 1:32 a.m., Portland Police were dispatched to a pedestrian struck near 10000 Northeast 33rd Drive. Officers arrived and found a person down in the roadway. The driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian remained at the scene and cooperated with police.

The preliminary investigation showed that the vehicle was going north on Northeast 33rd Avenue and hit the pedestrian, who was in the street.

The Portland Police Major Crash Team responded and took over the investigation.
This is the 31st traffic fatality in Portland in 2021.
