NW District Parking Plan

The Portland City Council adopted Resolution No. 36744 on October 21, 2009. This Resolution directs the Bureau of Transportation to “bring an ordinance to City Council by Fall 2010 that would create a meter and permit district, establish a meter fee, and create a Northwest Portland Transportation and Parking Management Association with an approved revenue allocation plan, pursuant to the Northwest Parking Plan adopted in 2003.”

This process is getting started with an analysis of economic indicators to insure that the implementation of new parking management measures do not have a detrimental impact on economic vitality or community livability. An Economic Indicators Advisory Group was convened by the Mayor to help shape the study. The first meeting took place on April 15, 2010 and the second meeting will take place on April 29, 2010. These meetings are open to the public.

Once the economic indicators have been developed, the Mayor will begin the process of appointing a Stakeholder Advisory Committee, which will assume the responsibility for guiding the development of Northwest District Parking Plan.
